In the ever growing digital world, it has become the complete norm to connect with someone online. These connections vary in several different ways; connecting with a colleague, family member, or an old friend. And most popularly, is to connect with a potential love interest. It’s been proven over the years that people have indeed found love online - from marriage to children. But what about the alarming part of it? The part that is still not&nbsp; entirely recognised as a crime? It’s called romance scamming. It’s becoming heavily rampant, and international journalist and reporter Hannah Ajala has travelled through different continents to further investigate it and share important lessons and safety tips from the discoveries of romance fraud that she has learned through her research.&nbsp;&nbsp;Hannah Ajala is an international journalist and presenter currently specialising in remarkable storytelling and podcasts for organisations like the BBC and CBC, and has recently spent over three years travelling across Africa working on a range of stories and broadcasting for international organisations. As a graduate of Social &amp; Cultural studies at Goldsmiths University London, Hannah has always had a passion for digging deeper into human interest stories, with an impartial approach to unique storytelling. She found studying this degree in university equipped her with strong research styles as well as the freedom to creatively express herself and explore local and global issues through her work. After five years of working full-time at the BBC, Hannah decided to freelance in 2019, as a way to immerse herself in the continent of Africa, shed light on more stories from the continent, and personally develop herself as a traveller. Hannah is a huge travel enthusiast who loves exploring, and has now spent time in over 50 countries, 15 of them being in Africa. Her work across the continent included: producing a documentary on the LGBQT+ community in Nigeria, Tapping into the music scene in Gambia and Senegal, communities going plastic-free in Sierra Leone, and eating through Ghanaian modern food with an Instagram popular chef. Hannah very recently landed a role as presenter of top rated 7-part True Crime series podcast Love Janessa, released in January 2023. It’s been highly praised across global media houses and also described as amongst ‘the best podcasts in the world.’
